Were they ever cool? I don’t think they were ever cool.
I liked owning a CVPI because I knew I could fix whatever went wrong with one of those screwdrivers that flipped around, duct tape, and a rock. Or...not, because it would still run on like 1 and a half cylinders with three wheels

My girlfriend had one in college. Very comfortable but completely lacking proper support and NO DEADPEDAL. You always had to find places for your feet. That and it was from Upstate NY and it basically was decaying around you

I had one, they’re a lot more comfortable than anything you can get now, but ride like an

I’m down with the lack of support, in this use case I’m basically looking for a living room couch with seat belts.
On the dead pedal, was there enough room to basically "man spread" and leave your left foot just sitting on the floor?

I used to kinda tuck my left leg up against the door panel. They also make aftermarket dead pedals you can install, or like screw down a block of wood or something.

I was strongly looking for one of these as my first real car purchase. Literally the only reason why I bought a Miata instead was because I wanted something with a manual as my only requirement. I know people have put manuals in these but its not particularly easy. Its hilarious to cross shop Miatas, Subaru WRX, and Marauders but that was what I did.

Plenty of room to spread out. I couldnt stick my feet quite out in front of me like a lounger but certainly some could. It had adjustable pedals so there was plenty of room behind them for someone shorter than I
